Antalya is is a resort town located on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, also known as the Turkish Riviera, a favourite seaside holiday resort among European package tourists with beaches stretching for miles and lined with hotels and bars.
The southern part of the town is the most tourist-orientated but aside from the beaches and the usual tourist fare Alanya has many other charms and interesting places to visit such as the Damlatas Caves, Alanya Castle and the Red Tower dating back to 1226.
A half hour's drive outside town are the Taurus Mountains which offer some wonderful trekking routes as well as spectacular views.
